In recent years, we’ve witnessed deeply concerning leadership trends—across business, politics, athletics, and beyond. Self-interest, short-term wins, and performative leadership are too often rewarded over character, integrity, and service to others.

That’s why we created CEEK Next

In July of 2025, CEEK launched this nonprofit initiative to elevate a new generation of other-oriented leaders—and to recognize those who are already quietly living out that mission today.

In collegiate athletics, we’ve seen how NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) deals and the transfer portal—though well-intentioned—have produced unintended consequences. We’ve incentivized athletes to transfer year after year in search of bigger deals. This comes at the expense of educational continuity, personal growth, and program culture.

We don’t judge these decisions—but we do believe there’s another story worth telling.

Enter the CEEK Next Collegiate Athlete Leadership Program

We created the Collegiate Athlete Leadership Recognition initiative to uplift the untold stories of student-athletes who persevere—mentally, physically, and socially—through four years at the same school, within the same program, regardless of sport, gender, or level. These individuals model other-oriented leadership sustained with integrity and we believe they deserve to be celebrated.

We’re proud to share that CEEK has signed its first three NIL agreements! These three student-athletes exemplify character, consistency, and contribution that goes far beyond the stat sheet.

  • 🏆 Michelle Ngo, William & Mary Women’s Gymnastics
  • 🏆 Sam Smith, William & Mary Men’s Gymnastics
  • 🏆 Michelle Flores-Orea, Barton College Women’s Bowling

In the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing their incredible journeys—stories of grit, gratitude, and servant leadership.

And this recognition is more than symbolic. Each honoree will receive a $500 NIL Honorarium and will be celebrated through a leadership workshop delivered for their team, department, or school.
